Tango is a famous Argentinian genre of music usually followed by a choreographed dance. Quechuan culture has always had its own folk-like music, but has become more popularized with the acceptance of the culture. The mambo and the salsa both originate from Cuba. In Colombia and Puerto Rico, merengue is a traditional music style in those countries. Mariachi is one of the most well known Latin music genres and it comes froms Mexico.
Languages
Spanish is the main language spoken in Latin America. Many countries also speak English and Portuguese. And in small parts of Latin America, French is common. Quechua is a native Latin American spoken in the area of the Andes Mountains.
Religion
There are only 2 main religious identities in Latin America. Catholicism and Evangelical Protestants are all over South and Central America. Only few are unaffiliated with either religion.
Food
Many countries make similar dishes, each put their own cultural spin on it to make it theirs.
Empanada: filled with meats and vegetables or sweet fruits
Tamal: corn dough stuffed with meats, cheeses, vegetables, or chiles.
Ceviche: raw fresh fish marinated in citrus juices served with corn
Mole Poblano: a dark 20 ingredient sauce poured over turkey or chicken.
Pabellon Criollo: black beans, rice, shredded beef and fried plantains
